1) We remember the 5th of November because Guy Fawkes Night commemorates the discovery of the plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605.
2) The first fireworks were made in China nearly 2,000 years ago.
3) In Australia they call fireworks bungers.

Safety rules for fireworks

  • Never let children under the age of 18 light a firework.
  • Never return to a lit firework if it fails to ignite.

  • Always use fireworks outside and have a bucket of water and a hose nearby in case of an accident.
  • Soak all fireworks in a bucket of water before throwing them in the bin.
  • Make sure to follow the rules on the fireworks' box.
  • Always supervise children with sparklers.
  • NEVER try to make your own fireworks.
