We would like to thank all our
“Porty Does Strictly” couples that took part in helping raise money for our
partner school in Kenya. And also a massive congratulations to Ms Nisbet and Mr
McNiven, the overall winners of the fantastic night. We’ve decided to put some
questions to Ms Nisbet to find out a bit more about the event.
We were dancing the samba to
Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, a real crowd pleaser!
It was great; very current and a
show the public love anyway. It was always going to be a success.
Were you surprised that you won?
Very! We were only there to have
a laugh and Mr McNiven was a bit silly. Our faces showed how surprised we were.
If not you, who would you have
liked to win?
We would have loved it if a
pupil couple had won! If I heard correctly I think a pupil couple were just
pipped at the post by us.
How much do you think you
practiced?
We practiced at lunchtimes. We
probably had about five to six twenty minute sessions. Our dance wasn’t too
complicated anyway.
What did you think of your
partner’s efforts, and did he ever step on your foot?
Mr McNiven was very confident.
He was all about the fun and novelty moves. I did have a few sore toes though!
Was it easy for you to pick up
the dance, or did it take a while?
The Samba is all about the hips
and it can be tricky to put it to the music. I’m not a dancer but my Zumba
classes did help. The Beyonce move took us a while to get in sync.
Who did you want to win the BBC
Strictly competition?
I feel bad I hadn’t been
watching it. I did watch one week though and wanted the girl from Corrie to win
it.
Last of all we would like thank
all people that made the night so enjoyable. And we look forward to the one
scheduled for next year!
